The End of Injustice

There is one prison in the 60 minutes news that has been in jail for 27 years for a case killing his girlfriend. He got a wrong conviction and he is the 17th among prisoners in Dallas who have been set free because of the DNA test. I’m not sure if the lawyer is still studying and picks his case to reopen. They asked the guy named James if he pleaded guilty for the case and he said never because he is not guilty.

They took samples of his DNA and conducted some tests to match with the actual evidence on the night the girl was raped. Good News! His DNA is not match to the DNA collected from the actual crime. It was another guy who raped and killed his girlfriend who is also accused for sexual assault. He is now free and when asked why he did not plead guilty and wait for parole, he said he won’t admit a crime he never did.

The judge asked James that today he won’t get justice but what he will get is the end of injustice. I believe there are many prisons who are suffering inside the jail who are not really guilty to the crime. I was teary eyed watching the news because this guy lost his supposedly 27 blissful years but on the other hand admire his courage to get through all the mess he was involved to.
